Sunday, November 16th will be my last day owning Country Roads Deli…
I do not wish to go into too many details or leave a negative note as a goodbye. I will just say that a lot of real estate research showed the rent fees, etc and what I am paying here reflects pre-recession prices. I cannot continue to pay that and run the deli properly.
Those of you that know me know this isn’t from lack of effort. It is important for me to say that for better or worse I put my entire life into running this deli. As everyone does, I had some good breaks and rough breaks along the way. In the end, I did not have the means to overcome the rough ones. I knew I was taking a risk 8 years ago taking over this deli, but even today I am happy I did. I will never forget the relationships I made with both the staff and my customers. I want to thank all of you, many of you friends, for your loyalty and support over the years. I was not the only one hit hard by the economic turn years ago, and it makes me appreciate even more the patronage you gave me. During tough times there are cheaper options then a deli, so I really value all the times you chose to come here.
I want to thank my staff for working through some tough times recently and staying on when they could have left. Again, I want all of you, staff, customers & friends to know how much I appreciate your loyalty over the last 8 years.
Have a Safe & Happy holiday season. I will see you SOON!
